Working as a truck mechanic for 20 years, Kelly Terry was not enjoying his career. So, in 1991, he decided that it was time to go back to school and learn to do something that he would truly enjoy and that could bring him the fulfillment he desired. In the middle of winter, he and his wife packed up their belongings, as well as their five children and moved to Iowa. Terry attended chiropractic school year round for the following years, and in 1995 walked away as chiropractic physician as well as earning a bachelor’s degree.
Operating a practice in Iowa for a couple of years, the family later moved to Kentucky for about a year before relocating to Price and purchasing Southeast Chiropractic, Inc. in 1998. Over the course of the past 18 years, Southeast Chiropractic has shown true staying power as it has weathered the storm of the coal industry’s highs and lows.
Terry pays much thanks and respect to the good customers that have been returning for years. When first coming to town in 1998, general chiropractic care was offered. Dr. Terry still specializes in chiropractic care and adjustment to this day, utilizing three proven techniques to care for individuals and has added additional services for his customers. These include certified acupuncture, exercise and diet programs, personal health/wellness plans, minor physical therapy and deep tissue laser therapy.
Most often when thinking of chiropractic, we tend to think about back pain. Terry points at “the beneficial thing with chiropractic is getting the joints to move helps lubricate the joint and gets the nutrients moving. Chiropractic care can help with anything joint related.
“Patients who get adjusted regularly are more aware of their bodies,” he said. It is recommended that we get adjusted approximately every six weeks.
Terry has found the fulfillment he was searching for when he changed careers.
“I enjoy what I do,” he explained. “I enjoy the people and helping them feel better. I enjoy the natural aspect of chiropractic.”
Dr. Terry loves what he does at Southeast Chiropractic and welcomes the opportunity to share his knowledge and ability to help others.
