Canyon View Junior High ninth graders celebrated their years in junior high with a closing program this past Wednesday.

Four honor students spoke at the ceremony. Shem Guymon, Patyn Jeffs, Justin Jennings, and Brinler Tanner were chosen to speak because they maintained 4.0 Grade Point Averages through all three years at CVJH.

Curt Collard and Andy Pollaehne, teachers at Canyon View, presented awards for outstanding performance in computer technology, family and consumer science, algebra, chorus, band, social studies, and English.

Austin Allred and Skyler Sitterud were awarded the outstanding male and female athlete award respectively. This is an extremely prestigious award given to students who excel both on the court and in the classroom.

The program concluded with a slide show presentation put together by the yearbook staff, which highlighted each student for his or her accomplishments at Canyon View.
