After securing state titles in their respective age groups a couple of weeks ago, the Carbon 9U and 11U All-Stars have run into tough opponents in Pacific Southwest Regionals in California and Vernal, respectively.
After losing a one-run game, 8-7, to Northern California on Wednesday, the Carbon 9U team will get one more game before making the trip back to Carbon County. Thursday’s game will take place at 7:30 p.m. (MST) against Central California.
The Carbon 11U team found itself in a hole after losing its first two games of the tournament on Monday and Tuesday against Central California (9-2) and Southern California (12-5), respectively. Carbon then faced Vernal on Wednesday and needed a win to have a chance to continue to the single elimination tournament that begins on Friday. Vernal handed Carbon a tough 13-9 loss. Carbon will face Northern Utah #2 on Friday, after a bye on Thursday, to conclude its season.
