Carbon High pitcher Gage Bigelow tossed an abbreviated no-hitter in a blowout win against archrival Emery in Castle Dale on Tuesday, March 29.
Bigelow’s virtuoso performance fell just one walk shy of a perfect game. Bigelow recorded 10 strikeouts.
The Dinos offense provided plenty of support on their way to an 18-0 victory. Jaren McCourt and Dylan Vogrinec led the charge with a home run and two extra-base hits, respectively. Carbon finished the game with 14 hits.
The mercy rule was invoked after only five innings.
Carbon continues play against Uintah in Price on Friday at 3 pm. Emery opens Region 12 play at Richfield Friday afternoon.
