Carbon and Emery Compete in Temple View Q

Carbon and Emery took part of the track and field meet in Manti over the weekend along with 14 other teams.

Carson Frame continued to represent Carbon well with his top place finish in the long jump. Cale Allred and Keldan Guymon did the same for Emery in javelin, going one and two in the event. Emery’s Anthony Taylor also finished first in the discus throw.

Lady Dinos Grace Broadbear and Emma Christensen finished third in the 3200 meter and high jump, respectively. McKenzie Cox (EHS) followed suit ending up in third in discus.

Spartans Bryar Meccariello and Treven Brazier each reached the podium when they placed third in the 1600 meter race and 110 meter hurdles, respectively. Keldan Guymon (EHS) also ended in third in the 300 meter hurdles.

Carbon’s boys’ 4×400 finished in second while its girls’ 4×100 took third. Emery’s boys’ 2-2-4-8 also placed second.

Emery boys took second overall, behind Grand. Carbon finished in sixth. On the girls’ side, the Lady Dinos finished third overall while the Lady Spartans ended in 14th.

Emery will have its next meet in Richfield on Friday while Carbon will host the Farm Bureau Meet on Saturday in Price.
