Carbon and Emery Meet in the Pool

Emery swim hosted teams from Carbon, Canyon View, Wasatch Academy and South Sevier on Friday afternoon. Both Carbon and Emery competed well, especially in the girls’ events.

For the girls, Emery and Carbon finished first and second respectively in both the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Alexis Johansen (EHS) won the 100 butterfly with Kacee Barrett (CHS) right behind her. Kaelee Hooley (EHS) took the 500 free followed by Ashlin Baker (CHS). Megan Swasey (CHS) won the 100 backstroke with Sydney Terwilleger (EHS) on her tail. Haley Guymon (EHS) placed first in the 100 breaststroke, just in front of Nicole Swasey (CHS).

In the boys’ division, the Spartans won the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Hunter Heath (CHS) finished first in the 200 free. Keldan Guymon (EHS) placed first in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke while Asher Beagley (EHS) took the 100 butterfly.

After 22 events, Emery emerged victorious in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. Carbon finished second in the girls’ division and fourth in the boys’. These two teams will go at it again this coming weekend when they travel to compete in a two-day event in Tooele.
