Leading 6-3 going into halftime after thoroughly dominating the first half, many thought the Carbon Dinos would pick up their first win of the young football season. American Leadership Academy, though, had other plans, winning the 2A/3A showdown 29-6.

The Dinos (02, 0-0 Region 12) started quick as quarterback Dakota Cisneros hooked up with Zac Hathaway on a 8-yard touchdown score early in the first quarter. That was all the offense Carbon could muster.

ALA (1-1, 0-0 2A North) cut the Dino lead to three at half on a field goal as time expired. The Eagles added another field goal and a safety in the third and then blew it open with a 21-point fourth quarter.

Cisneros completed six of 23 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Blanc caught four passes for 105 yards and carried nine times for an additional 106 yards.

Carbon will next travel to Ogden Friday to take on Region 11’s Ben Lomond (0-2, 0-0 Region 11).
