Over 100 Carbon County youth will have plenty to keep their bellies full throughout Christmas break thanks to the efforts of Carbon Caring for Kids volunteers and many generous donations.

Carbon Caring for Kids is a non-profit organization that helps provide meals for children in the area to eat while they are not in school. The organization is solely a volunteer effort that aims to ensure that no child in Carbon County goes hungry.

The team of volunteers for the organization carefully planned for Christmas break, knowing that many children were in need this year. Donations of fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, cereal and more were plentiful as students from Helper Middle School gathered to prepare the kits for distribution.

“Thank you everyone for the crazy amount of food donations and to Helper basketball for packing for us tonight,” Tiffany Noyes from Carbon Caring for Kids shared on Monday.

More students gathered after the kits were prepared to gear up for the new year. Members of Carbon High’s Future Business Leaders of America organization spent time reorganizing, taking inventory, preparing items for the new year and even taking out garbage.

“They did such a great job,” Noyes said. “What a relief to have all the food bagged, delivered and everything setup and ready to go for after Christmas break. Thank you again to everyone who donated, bagged, delivered and volunteered. We could never do this without you all.”
