On Wednesday, the Carbon Dinos traveled to Roosevelt to take on the Union Cougars.

Union was able to gain a slight lead after a back and forth opening quarter, 16-13. The Dinos kept it close in an even tighter second period but still trailed 27-23 at halftime. Carbon had its best offensive quarter of the game in the following quarter and cut its deficit to just a field goal. Going into the final period of play up 42-40, Union outlasted Carbon to defeat the Dinos 60-53.

Collin Lewis had a double-double in the contest with 15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Junior Kaleb Nelson led the team with 16 points and added seven rebounds of his own. Derek Hillam had a game high in rebounds with 13 to go along with five assists. Neither team shot the ball well, going 33% and 35% from the field for Carbon and Union, respectively.

Carbon (7-14, 4-7 Region 14) will close out its regular season with a game at ALA (4-16, 1-10 Region 14) on Friday. Then, the Dinos will have one full week to prepare to play Morgan (15-5, 7-0 Region 13) in the opening round of the state tournament.
