With just one loss on their resume thus far this season, the Carbon Lady Dinos were not going to make it two Thursday night at North Sanpete, beating the Hawks 49-36 to pick up another Region 12 win. Carbon has yet to lose to a Utah team this season.
Sara Morley picked up a double double in the win, scoring a game-high 16 points and grabbing 11 boards. She went 8-10 from the free-throw line and 4-8 from the field.
The Dino defense was again on point against the Hawks, allowing their opponents to shoot just 27% from the field. Carbon led 34-21 at the end of the third before playing even with North Sanpete in the fourth.
Lindsey Blanc was the only other Lady Dino in double figures with 10. She also had six steals and seven deflections. Chandelle Nichols and Taylor Passarella each chipped in six points apiece. Passarella also had six rebounds and three steals.
Carbon (15-1, 2-0 Region 12, #3 in 3A) will host Richfield (8-5, 1-0 Region 12) on Tuesday. The game can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
