At the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon on Thursday, the United Way of Eastern Utah was the recipient of a $2,666 check from the chamber.

The funds donated to United Way were raised in January at a silent auction hosted by the chamber at its annual installation banquet. 100% of the funds raised at the auction were donated to the local United Way.

“They don’t take this lightly,” United Way of Eastern Utah Director Carol Wright explained about the 15-member board. “They spend many, many hours to make sure the funds are used in the best way possible.”

The local United Way has made an impression on the area for over 30 years, partnering with community members and organizations to make a positive impact in Eastern Utah.

“United Way funding enables direct community impact,” the organization’s website shares. “This means no capital projects, only services, training and supplies. People helping people.”

Also at the luncheon, the chamber honored winners of the recent CCCC Best in Business competition. The Best Spot to Look Hot in Carbon County winners were awarded to Gent’s Hairstyling as well as Giraud Glamour Shop, both located in Price.

“On behalf of the 2015 board of directors of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, we want to congratulate Gent’s Hairstyling and Giraud Glamour Shop,” the chamber shared in a recent press release.

The next Best in Business competition will be the the “Best One Stop Auto Shop” and will run from April 1 to April 30.
