Carbon County Commissioners unsealed construction bids Wednesday for a new animal control shelter.

Interwest Construction’s $1,439,000 bid beat out five others. The project would take 165 days.

The bid will be awarded pending sub-contractor reviews.

Commissioners praised animal control shelter Doreen McCourt for her efforts to find homes for rescued animals and low euthanasia levels.

Notes:

  • Commissioners agreed to implement an alternative waste water system for some Scofield residents.
  • Commissioners approved changes to a mineral rights lease.
  • Commissioners also listened to a request from ABC Learning Centre.
