CARBON COUNTY PRESS RELEASE

Price— Carbon County will postpone the December 6, 2017 regular commission meeting, as well as the continuing public hearing on proposed property tax levy rate increases previously scheduled for that date, to December 13, 2017. The purpose of the postponement is to enable the public hearing on the proposed levy rate increases to take place in conjunction with the public hearing on the tentative 2018 budget, which will also take place on December 13, and to allow sufficient time for required legal notice of these public hearings to be made.

The public hearings for both the tax levy rate increases and the tentative budget will begin at 6:00 p.m. on December 13, 2017, and will take place on the second floor of the Carbon County Administrative Building at 751 East 100 North, Price, Utah. The public is invited to attend and give comments on both the tentative budget and the proposed tax levy rate increases.

The tentative budget that will be the subject of the December 13 public hearing will be discussed and adopted by the Board of Commissioners at a special commission meeting on December 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. It will also be available online at the County’s website beginning December 1.

A final decision on the proposed tax rate increase and the adoption of the final 2018 budget will be made on December 20, 2017.

A survey to provide feedback is available online at https://www.carbon.utah.gov/notices along with other information regarding the public hearings. Printed copies of the survey will also be available at the Senior Center as well as the Commission and Clerk’s office. For more information, please call 435-636-3200 or 435-636-3226.
