At the Carbon County commission meeting on Wednesday, the board took a moment to honor one of their own, Michael Milovich.

Milovich has been on the Carbon County Board of Commissioners for almost 20 years and has been a great asset to the county, inspiring many along the way.В  Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to celebrate the 20 years that he has dedicated to this county.

“Everyone said I was nuts to accept this job, but I wanted to make a difference,” he explained after receiving plaques from both the commission board and the Carbon County sheriff’s office.

“Mike has been an asset not only to the community but to local law enforcement and search and rescue, I can’t think him enough for all that he has done,” said Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova В as he presented Milovich with a plaque of recognition.

As proven by the emotional goodbye during his last commission meeting, Milovich will be missed by all. Taking Milovich’s seat as Carbon County Commissioner will be Casey Hopes.
