Carbon County Commissioners honored treasurer Marilyn Graham who is retiring after 34 years as a county employee, during a meeting on Wednesday.

In the 34 years working for the county, Graham spent 20 of them as treasurer, making her the longest serving treasurer in Carbon County to date.

Commissioner Jae Potter presented Graham with a plaque and thanks for her dedication to the county throughout the years.

“I appreciate Marilyn for the job she has done as treasurer and the years of dedicated service,” Potter said.

Graham expressed her gratitude to the community for the bittersweet milestone in her life.

“I just want to thank everybody, thank especially the public for their years of support and my coworkers and my family,” Graham commented.

On Friday, December 12, a celebration to honor Ghraham will take place in the commission chambers of the Carbon County Courthouse. The celebration will take place from noon to 3 p.m. and allows members of the community to thank Graham and wish her well.
