The Carbon County Friends of NRA sixth annual fundraising dinner and auction took place once more on Saturday evening at the Carbon County Event Center, marking the organization’s largest fundraising event to date.

Beginning promptly at 5 p.m., those in attendance worked through registration, a preview of merchandise and games or raffles. Following this was a welcome as attendees thanked the veterans, Legions, Posts and EMS. David Jelin, American Legion Post 3 Commander, led the Pledge of Allegiance while Representative Christine Watkins handled the invocation.

A hearty dinner, catered by local favorite Sam Farlaino, filled the bellies of all those that attended the event. This year’s event was the largest recorded by the Friends of the NRA as over 200 community members gathered at the event center. The fun really kicked off once the plates had been cleared with the beginning of the games, silent auction, live auction and bucket raffles.

The NRA Field Representative of the evening was Jim Reardon, who covers Utah and Eastern Nevada. The Carbon County Friends of the NRA Committee consists of chair Craig Johnson, vice chair Tom Barrington, secretary/treasurer John Watkins and members Wendell Christensen, Branson Cook, Jace Draper, Jelin, Ray Labahn, Cindy Ramirez and Rep. Watkins.

The auctioneer of the evening was Jace Clark and the FFL Dealer was Sportsman’s Corner.
