If you are traveling by or through Peerless Port of Entry this Friday and Saturday (June 9th and 10th), you will notice the Carbon County Hazmat Team conducting a Flow Study. They will be stopping traffic traveling through the port, collecting data on what each placarded vehicle is transporting.
The Carbon County Hazmat Team is qualified to respond initially to all hazardous material emergencies. However, this study will provide information to mitigate and plan for incidents that have the highest potential of occurring in our communities based on the amount of materials being transported. This study should not impact thru traffic.
We appreciate the communities caution traveling while emergency crews are on the road. Please keep our safety a priority.
