A Carbon County man was recently arrested in Helper City for rape, forcible sodomy and burglary. Taylor Goodall, age 22, was arrested on Aug. 13, his second arrest this year for rape and forcible sodomy.
Helper City Police Chief Trent Anderson stated that, back in March of this year, Goodall was arrested for the same offences of an adult female. At that time, he was booked into the county jail and released from the courts. Though the August case is separate from the March case, according to the Carbon County Attorney’s Office, they will be tracked together.
Chief Anderson stressed that Goodall is innocent until proven guilty and is currently incarcerated at the Carbon County Jail. Goodall’s initial appearance was on Monday and he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 20.
In the state of Utah, rape and forcible sodomy are a first degree felonies that could carry a minimum prison sentence of five years.
