The always-anticipated When Pies Fly annual event took place once more at the Carbon County Senior Center on Wednesday afternoon. For the price of just $1 per ticket or six tickets for $5, votes could be cast to see who would get their names in the drawing to get a pie in the face, arm, chest and the like.

Carbon County Commissioner Casey Hopes, Interim County Clerk/Auditor Seth Marsing, Clerk/Auditor candidate Sulika Merrell, County Commissioner hopefuls Tony Martines and John Jones, senior center employee Tammy Vea and County Sheriff Jeff Wood were all in the running to be hit by the flying pies.

Annually, this event benefits various activities and areas of the senior center. This year, $959 was raised by those donating to see pies flung at these county officials and hopefuls.
