Many local youngsters from Carbon County enjoyed a special Saturday morning treat as they gathered at the Tuscan to enjoy breakfast with local law enforcement from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Wellington, Helper and Price City police departments and more before scooping up goodies as part of the the Shop With a Cop Program.
The breakfast, provided by McDonald’s, was available to all law enforcement officers involved as well as the families participating in the program. Served by Bethel 3, popular breakfast staples such as McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches were available.
Juice was also donated by Walmart for those in attendance. Once all had full stomachs, they hopped in the police cruisers and made their way to Walmart. Shop With a Cop is made possible annually by grants. Up to $5,000 was received in a combined effort and up to $100 was available for each child.
While at Walmart, Carbon Lady Dinos were in attendance to gift-wrap this year’s purchases. Santa could also be found chatting with the youngsters.
