Both the boy’s and girl’s cross country teams from Carbon nabbed second place finishes Wednesday in Vernal at Dinaland Golf Course.

Facing off against 4A Uintah and a number of smaller schools, the Dinos snagged their finishes on a hot day.

“Super, super hot yesterday,” Carbon Cross Country Coach Tellise Allen said about the conditions.

Juniors Emily Broadbear and Zaharah Rossi finished in first and second place, respectively, at the meet. Jordyn Oman and Sarah Ohlwiler each set personal bests on the day while finishing in seventh and 11th overall. Nikki Kulow also represented the Dinos in the meet.

On the boy’s side, Drew Jones was the lone Dino in the top 10, finishing in seventh. Paul Bryner and Trey Richardson finished back-to-back in 11th and 12th place. Kaden Kranendonk came in 13th and Anthony Jones placed 17th. Logan Engar and Logan Beecher were the other competitors for Carbon.
