The Boys & Girls Club has been a staple in the Carbon County area since 2010, providing a safe and secure place for teens to go for an after-school program as well as offering a place for younger children in more recent years.
Seeing the value the club brings to the local area, the Carbon Emery Chapter Board of Realtors recently made the decision to extend support to the club. Representatives from the board presented a $600 check to club president Tami Ursenbach. The donated funds will benefit the club directly, assisting with operating costs.
This school year, an average of 55 members attend the club daily, with attendance reaching upwards of 70 some days. These students are attending from Carbon High, Lighthouse High, Castle Heights, Creekview, Sally Mauro, Wellington, Mont Harmon Middle, Helper Middle, Pinnacle Canyon Academy, and several who are home schooled. Each child can be enrolled for only $20 per year.
