Carbon Girls Finish First Among 3A, 12th Overall at Murray Invite, Boys 22nd

Emily Broadbear finished in 21st place Friday at the Murray Invitational cross-country meet, helping her team in the open girls race to a 12th place overall finish with a time of 21:47.8.

“They ran amongst the best of the best,” head coach Tellise Allen said of the meet.

Zaharah Rossi crossed the finish line in 43rd, with a time of 22:39.9. Sarah Ohlwiler finished in 99th. There were 310 total runners who participated in the event. Other finishers included Jordyn Oman in 136th and Nikki Kulow in 251st. Britlie Sharp and Katie Snow both participated in the freshman/sophomore race.

On the boy’s side, Drew Jones crossed the line in 44th place out of 389 total runners with a time of 18:37.8. Trey Richardson was next for the Dinos in 123rd. Paul Bryner came in just after Richardson in 139th as did Kaden Kranendonk in 152nd. Logan Engar, Kanyon Beecher, Kyle Quinton, Donald Olsen, Joseph Keller, Gabe Vandyke, Hunter Mortensen and Jordan Nielsen all participated in the event as well. Anthony Jones, Mackinnon Lyman, Jacob Jewkes and Tanner Giles all took part in the freshman/sophomore race.

The team will travel to take on Juab on Wednesday at Nebo Lake. On Saturday, the team will participate in the Wasatch Rendezvous at the Cottonwood Complex.
