The Lady Dinos golf team recently traveled to Cove View Golf Course in Richfield to compete in the state tournament. According to coach Kenji Otani, high nerves were felt on day one. However, the Lady Dinos played well and were able to make the cut, tying for fourth place.
On the first day, Jordan Bianco scored 87 while Sam King notched 96. Kirsten Etzel finished with 107 and Jessica Hansen ended with 108. This ended the day with a combined score of 398. Coach Otani explained that the second day showed much improvement.
Otani had requested a five-shot decrease from the team and they met the challenge well, ending the day with a team score of 372. A full score of 770 for the combined days earned the Lady Dinos fourth place. Bianco’s 169 total earned her fourth place in All State Honors.
“Attitude and confidence can go a long way and the girls proved it on day two,” said Otani. “Every girl on this team made big strides the last two days. Good job girls, I am very proud of all of you!”
