Students in the Carbon High School band serenaded during their annual spring concert on Wednesday evening.
Under the direction of conductor Adam Cunningham, the event featured a variety of musical numbers as students took to the stage to perform for friends, family and fellow classmates. Beginning with percussion was Matthew Curley performing Hidden Dreams.
Following was the jazz band. Sammy Nestico performed Hayburner while Larry Neeck wowed the crowd with After the Rain and The Big Band Theory. Symphonic band performed a Dedicatory Overture by Clifton Williams, Air from County Derry by Joseph Kreines and a Military Escort by Harold Bennett.
Rounding out the evening was the wind ensemble, serenading the crowd with three pieces: Proud Heritage by William Latham, At Mornings First Light by David R. Gillingham and American Riversongs by Pierre La Plante.
The parents, custodians, teachers and Principal Bruce Bean were all thanked for the evening. The friends of Carbon High band are platinum sponsor NPI, silver sponsors Lin’s Fresh Market and Spectrum Paint and gold sponsor Castleview Hospital.
