On Monday April 24, the Carbon High Soccer team held practice early so they could take the time to give back to the community. This service project included cleaning up along the highways and cutting down bushes around Castleview Hospital.
“I think it’s good that the boys learn how to serve others, we have a lot of people in the community who support us, and we ought to give back to them,” said coach Chad Cowdell.
The players split into groups; two groups cleaned the courtyards, two groups went to clean along the fence that borders the highway, and one group went to cut down some bushes near the emergency bay. The soccer team served for about an hour. When the work was done, the team was rewarded for the efforts by their coach.
“We were able to help Castleview Hospital with their clean up needs, and the boys did a good job, and they were happy while doing it,” stated Cowdell
