The Carbon Dino golf team traveled to Sunset View Golf Course in Delta for their second tournament of the 2017-18 season on Tuesday. The course was mostly in good shape other than one temporary green but the same couldn’t be said for the club house, which was torn down and will be replaced for the 2018-19 season.

The hosting Rabbits made due with a temporary construction trailer, which served as their club house. This did not bother the boys from Carbon as they opened the event strong to build an early lead and demolished the others to finish the day on top.

The Dinos won their second straight tournament and increased their lead to 82 strokes over the competition. The brother combination lead the team in low scores with Ryan Gagon posting the tournament best of 74 while the younger Brady Gagon reported a 76. Ryker Smith shot a 78, Carson Martines and Zade Carrillo both matched scores of 85, Jordan Penovich and Tyler Yoklavich tied with scores of 87, and Nick Olson finished with 89.

The next challenge for the surging Dinos will be Tuesday, Aug. 22 where they look to improve on their lead in Region 14 with a tournament being held by the Union Cougars at Roosevelt Golf Course.
