At the Carbon School Board’s September meeting, Carbon High School representatives such as Principal Chris Winfree approached the board with a specific request.

This request was to install a fence in the back of the school in order to provide security as students must transition from the school to the portables and back throughout the school day.

The proposed fence will include two key fob-enabled gates that will allow members of the staff to enter and leave during school hours. Outside of school hours, the gates will be opened.

The school board approved the use of capital funds in order to complete this project.
