Carbon High School will present the musical “Crazy For You” Nov. 18-21 and 23 at 7 p.m. at the CHS Auditorium.
Tickets, which will be sold at the door, will be free for CHS students with their identification, $3 for children 12 and under, and $5 for adults.
“I love the Gershwin music,” said Carbon High School drama teacher Steven Pay when asked why “Crazy For You” was selected. “That’s what I was brought up with, watching those old times shows.”
The musical tells the story of Bobby Child, a banker from New York who dreams of life on the stage. His demanding mother sends him to Nevada on business and while there, Child falls in love with a local girl, Polly Baker. Child tries his hardest to keep Baker’s theater from closing and eventually returns to New York. After a time back home, Child decides to return to Nevada and reunites with Baker.
“A lot of work was put into it,” explained Bethany P. who plays Baker. “It was a ton of fun.”
“It’s a really fun and exciting show with great musical numbers,” explained Ryan M., the male lead. “You won’t regret coming.”
