Students of the Carbon High leadership management class organized and presented an assembly Thursday afternoon to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The Price VFW began the assembly with a flag ceremony. The leadership management class then presented a slideshow and interviews of school staff explaining what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, the impact those events had on America and the importance of remembering this date in history.

Former Carbon High choir instructor Tony Pinedo sang God Bless the USA and was accompanied by current choir instructor Arthella Williams on piano.

Students then walked to the front of the school with red, white and blue flags adorned with names of each Sept. 11 victim. The students placed the flags on the school’s front lawn where they will be on display until Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The leadership management class welcomes the public to visit the school and enjoy the Sept. 11 tribute.
