Emery and Carbon met for the second time this season on Thursday night.

The Lady Dinos had their way with the Lady Spartans the first go around, and this one had a similar start. Emery played hard the first couple of sets, but lost each of them 25-21 and 25-22. The Lady Spartans finally broke through in the third set with a 25-22 win.

The forth set was also close, but again Emery found the answer, taking another set 25-21. With the two consecutive set wins, the Lady Spartans forced a winner-take-all, fifth and final set. Both teams fought hard for the victory and bragging rights, but it was the visitors that pulled through at the end. Carbon held on to defeat Emery 3-2.

Emma Christensen led the Dinos in digs with 34 and kills with 23. Katie Jones also tallied 34 digs to tie Christensen for the team-high. Four other Lady Dinos reached double-digit digs, including Sydney Orth (13), Lyndee Mower (13), Makenna Blanc (10) and Reagan Smuin (10). Blanc also recorded a team-high 42 assists and a season-high 11 kills.

Both Carbon (14-3, 6-2) and Emery (6-10, 2-6) have a week off until they participate in the SVC Tournament in Richfield next weekend.
