Carbon High School hosted a Boy’s Volleyball Skills Camp from June 24-26, ran by Lyman Volleyball Camps. Tressa Page, Riley Lyman and Sydnie Martindale were the instructors during the camp. It was broken down into two session each day where players learned different skills, strategies and gameplay situations.

The athletes worked on passing form, footwork, strategies for different passes, setting form footwork and strategies to become more efficient and consistent. They also worked on attack approaches and ways to minimize attacking errors, blocking form quicker reaction during gameplay, serving form and rotations for serve. Tips were given for different types of serves, rotations, serve receive to maximize points won and reducing errors.

The players also worked on setting up the next play and how to think volleyball in the moment, as well as off the court. The boys learned drills they can use at home throughout the season to be a better individual player, help build a stronger team and volleyball culture for Carbon Boy’s Volleyball.

“The explosive growth and development [in] the boys that attend will drastically improve the program and will be used as they get ready for the North Sanpete Boy’s Volleyball team camp on July 22. Also, as they compete in the 2024-25 season,” said Head Coach Landon Fehlberg.

The athletes that are attending camp will be exciting to watch as their skill improve in the newly added sport at Carbon. The team’s second season will begin in April.
