On Tuesday, Carbon and Emery met on the mat for the Dinos’ senior night. The senior class was honored before the match, including Colin Fausett, Jacob Nelson, Ashton Guymon, Parker Holt, Dominic Madden, Victor Huitt and Isaac Robinson.
The duel then began with Monty Christiansen (EHS) winning by pin in 106. The Spartans were back on the board in 113 when Corbin Jensen won by pin in the third round. It was a tight finish in 120 when Dino Tanner Greenhalgh outlasted Rayden Ewell by decision 4-2.
Emery went back on a roll in the next three matches with Merritt Meccariello (126) and Hayden Christiansen (132) each winning by pin. Damon Farley (138) then received a major-decision win, 11-2. In 144, Carbon’s Colin Fausett emerged victorious with a pin in just over a minute.
The Spartans would answer back with Boden Christman in 150 and Hazen Meccariello in 157, each winning by pin. Gavin Fausett was the final Dino with his arm raised on the night as he won by pin in 165. The Spartans would take the remaining matches with Greg Suwyn winning by major decision 13-2 in 175 and Oumar Diarra winning by pin in 190. Easton Thornley also scored six points by forfeit in 285.
The Spartans left Price with a win over their rivals, 56-15.
