The Lady Dinos have yet to lose in the state of Utah this season. Their two loses came in the early preseason at a tournament in Colorado. The Dinos were looking to remain undefeated in Utah and in region on Thursday night when they invited the Delta Rabbits into town.
Carbon used a big first quarter to take an 18-5 lead in the game. Coming out of half up 29-11, the Lady Dinos continued their dominance over the visiting Rabbits to win the game 52-23.
Carbon was tough again on defense, allowing eight or less points in each of the four quarters, and recorded 19 team steals on the night. Delta’s poor shooting also played a part in their offensive woes.
Makenna Blanc had a game-high 18 points for the Lady Dinos while Abbie Saccomanno added 12 points on the night. Carbon had good ball movement throughout the game and had 15 assists as a result, including seven from Jordan Bianco.
Up next for the Dinos (14-2, 7-0 Region 14) are two road region games. The first contest is against the Juab Wasps (9-6, 4-1 Region 14) on Tuesday,. Then on, Thursday, Jan. 24, Carbon will travel to take on the Providence Hall Patriots (5-10, 2-5 Region 14).
