The Carbon School Board voted Wednesday evening to reconfigure district schools beginning next year. Ninth grade students in the Carbon School District will join 10-12 graders at Carbon High, while sixth grade students will share a school with 7-8 graders.
Although exact details of the alignment have not been finalized at this time, the school board has voted in favor of the change. The only board members to vote against the proposal were Jeff Richens and Wayne Woodward.
Board members feel that through diligent planning and research, the alignment change will be ready for implementation by August 2014. These plans will be presented at future school board meetings beginning in January.
