In a match-up of winning pitchers, the Union Cougars used two home runs to edge the Carbon Lady Dinos by a score of 3-2 at Carbon High on Friday.
Kenzie Cave, known at Carbon for bolstering her own winning pitching performances with extra-base hits, was stung by two late home runs after four innings of scoreless work, while her opponent in the pitching duel, Union’s Kaycee Prevdel limited the Lady Dinos to just 2 runs in the game.
The loss brings Carbon’s region record to 1-2, despite an overall record of 13-8 on the season. The Lady Dinos travel to face their next opponent, Park City, tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
