The Dinos played the Providence Hall Patriots on Friday in Herriman.
Carbon was able to match the Patriots’ 12 points in the first quarter but ultimately entered the half down by five, 29-24. The third quarter hurt the Dinos again as the Patriots outscored them, 16-7. For the second straight game, Carbon found their offense in the final quarter but it was too little, too late. Providence Hall handed Carbon another loss by a score of 62-51.
Derek Hillam again led the Dinos with 23 points and 12 rebounds for his second double-double in as many games. Carbon shot slightly better, 34% on the night, but will need to improve as the regular season heats up.
The Dinos (1-7, 0-2 Region 14) have their first home region game against Delta on Wednesday. The game will be streamed live online here and on ETV Channel 10. They will then travel to Cedar City to take on the 4A Canyon View Falcons (2-5, 0-0 Region 9).
