Fairgoers were treated to a variety of activities, including the City of Fun Carnival, during the Carbon County Fair last week.

The carnival kicked off on Thursday and continued through Saturday evening. Rides, games and food vendors were all featured at the carnival.

Festivities continued on Friday as 4-H & Home Arts exhibits were on display for those in attendance. The Castle Country Quilters also hosted its annual show on Friday. Live entertainment, a blood drive and a co-ed softball tournament, which raised nearly $700 for the Miss Carbon County Organization, added to the festivities.

On Saturday, fair activities kicked off with the Down N’ Dirty Mud Obstacle Race and a free fishing day hosted by the Division of Wildlife Resources. A baby contest as well as a princess and superhero festival kept fairgoers entertained throughout the day while the mud drags and battle of the bands competition rounded out the evening entertainment.

Fair organizers wish to give a special thanks to sponsors HELIOS, Emery Telcom, Dinosaur Tire, Price Auto Group, Conoco Phillips, the Southeastern Utah Health Department and Tony Basso GM.
