Jacob Barnett was installed as a new councilman along with incumbents Bradley Giles and Joel Dorsch at Castle Dale City council meeting Thursday evening.

In other city business the council voted to impose a roof-overlay building permit fee and also a fee for a demolition permit. It also outlined the fees and number of individuals allowed in the various city parks at pageant time. Specifications are different for each park and can be obtained at the city office when registering for the use.

Council members also signed two agreements with Castle Valley Special Service District and Emery Water Conservancy on the new city hall building. Bids are expected in March with construction to begin about 60 days after that.

The council accepted and approved the cargo container ordinance presented by the planning commission. Economic development discussion included a branding committee report and a request for $1,500 to hold a roping/barrel event at the indoor arena in October. This request was granted.

Citizen concerns included Carl Jacobson who asked for clarification on the water hookup with regards to his future plans for the mobile home park, Esquire Estates. Carol Peterson requested a reduction in her sewer bill. Her request was granted as she has a septic tank, but she was urged to hook on to city sewer as soon as possible.
