On Thursday, tens of thousands of stackers were expected to take part in Stack Up across the United States, hoping to break the record of 622,809 sport stackers.
Sport stacking is considered “a track meet for your hands at warp speed.” It is a sport where students up stack and down-stack 12 specially designed cups called Speed Stacks in predetermined sequences as fast as they can. It is in 40,000 schools and youth organizations across the globe.
Sport Stacking promotes hand-eye coordination, brain activation, concentration and focus. An online verification is sent to the World Sport Stacking Association, which is then passed on to see if the Guinness record is broken.
