Lenda Leek, from American Legion Auxiliary (Price, Unit 3), approached Carbon County commissioners on Wednesday to propose a new project for Castle Gate and Carbonville cemeteries. The project will place permanent markers honoring deceased military personnel at both cemeteries.
Commissioners agreed that the project would be a good addition to the cemeteries and decided to support Leek. She will coordinate with county workers to develop and place new markers at both locations.
The project is still in the development phase at this time. An exact date of completion is not known but community members can expect to see markers honoring loved ones in the future.
