Fifth grade students at Castle Heights Elementary celebrated their DARE and year-end graduations on Wednesday afternoon. Parents, teachers and staff honored each student with special awards, recognition and graduation certificates.

This fall, a middle school system will begin and current fifth graders will not celebrate the traditional sixth grade year-end celebration at Castle Heights. Because school officials did not want the children to miss out on the event, the DARE graduation served as the students special ceremony.

Price City Police Detective and DARE Officer Ed Malmgren praised the graduating class and said that he will greatly miss each student. “I have learned from these kids during the DARE program,” he explained. “They are amazing and smart. I will never stop being their DARE teacher and they can always come to me for help.”
