Helper, Mont Harmon, Canyon View and San Rafael middle schools as well as guest Delta Middle School performed at an honor choir concert Thursday evening. The event, hosted at Emery High, featured guest conductor Cathy Jolley. This annual concert features a different guest clinician each year to further educational and meaningful experiences for the students.
Each school featured soloists and ensembles. Helper Middle School had two ensembles: Jamie Hapsmith, Miriah Salee and Lilian Spendlove performing “On Top Of Old Smokey” as well as Shaylan Morrison and Jessica Hancock with “Skip To My Lou.”
Mont Harmon Middle School soloist Nellie Heaton sang “Angels Through the Night” and the ensemble of Brookelyn Clifford, Hanna Fincher, Emily Parry, Laurie Parry, Mielee Prettyman and Samantha Schaugaard preformed “O Clap Your Hands.”
Canyon View soloists Boston Huntington and Kadrianne Bird sang “Create In A Clean Heart, O God” and “Star Vicino,” respectively. San Rafael soloist Ivy Sorrensen sang “I Dreamed a Dream” and Byron Christiansen performed “The Rose.”
The combined choir presented two numbers,”Festival Sanctus” and “I Will Sing.” The boys’ choir sang “Cindy” while the girls’ choir performed “Clap Your Hands, Rejoice!” The combined choir concluded with “Hello Hallelujah” and “May The Roads Rise Up.”
