Castleview Hospital chief financial officer (CFO) Greg Cook has been named “CFO of the Year” by LifePoint Hospitals®, a leading hospital company focused on providing quality healthcare services close to home. The award is given annually to one CFO within LifePoint’s network of more than 60 hospitals who best exemplifies the company’s core values of honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, compassion, and ethical and legal compliance.
In presenting the award, Steve Frantz, CFO of LifePoint’s Western Group of hospitals, highlighted Cook’s active role in many areas of hospital operations and his positive attitude toward shaping a supportive work environment and strong culture at Castleview.
“Greg is appreciated by everyone he works with at Castleview and LifePoint for his willingness to jump in and assist with any issue or to help support staff members or physicians with their needs,” Frantz said. “He understands the importance of quality patient care, patient safety and employee satisfaction and is a significant contributor to numerous non-financial initiatives at Castleview and across the LifePoint system.”
Among his contributions to the hospital in 2014, Cook developed the Capital Asset Management model for the hospital’s Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit expansion, assisted and directed patient care team meetings, and led hospital-wide performance accountability initiatives.
“I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of the CFO of the Year award than Greg Cook,” said Mark Holyoak, chief executive officer of Castleview Hospital. “Greg is an integral part of our leadership team who works beyond his role as CFO to help shape a culture of safety, accountability and quality patient care at our hospital.”
Cook is a LifePoint veteran with many years of service across the country. He began as a controller at Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal, Utah, advanced to CFO at Bourbon Community Hospital in Versailles, Ky. and then became CFO at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Ky. Cook joined Castleview as CFO in 2013.
