Castleview Hospital has announced a new team of highly skilled nurses who will administer and expand the hospital’s chemotherapy and IV therapy program. Becky Quinn, RN, a 13-year nursing veteran, has assumed leadership of the program. Fellow nurses Jennifer Nattress, RN, and Nicole Bradley, RN, have joined her in providing program support and administering treatments to patients. All three have received special training from the Huntsman Cancer Institute and are highly skilled in chemotherapy and other IV infusion treatments.
“Whether you are receiving chemotherapy treatment or calling for cancer information, support, complementary therapies or benefits advice and counseling, this service will help so many patients in our community,” said Mark Holyoak, chief executive officer at Castleview Hospital. “The convenient location and introduction of this team of highly trained nurses will take this program to the next level.”
The program previously had the support of a single nurse. With two additional trained nurses joining the program, patients will have even greater access to the many services and therapies provided. Services are typically offered on an outpatient basis and include:
- Remicade for Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Transfusion of blood and blood products
- Tysabri for Multiple Sclerosis, Prolia for Osteoporosis
- IV infusions of antibiotics
- Port flushes
- IV fluids
- IV iron for anemia
- Solumedrol IV
- SQ shots
- IM shots
