Celebrating Elementary Staff in Carbon County

Last week, Sally Mauro Elementary and Castle Heights Elementary hosted celebratory parades to honor the hardships of this 2019-20 school year. Homestead Boulevard was lined with teachers in front of Castle Heights, cheering and waving. They all held signs for a parade of students to drive by and read. Even some of the students’ families decorated their vehicles to parade down the stretch of road.

In Helper, students and their families parked their cars down the city’s Main Street and waited for their teachers to drive down the stretch. The first vehicles of the parade were local law enforcement, blasting their sirens, building excitement in the students. There was plenty of smiles and cheering when teachers would drive past their own students. Sally Mauro staff provided pizza for each family to take home.
