Monday, the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act (H.R. 3012), sponsored by Congressman Jason Chaffetz (UT-03), passed the House of Representatives by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 389 to 15.
“I’m thrilled to see this pro-growth, pro-jobs, and pro-family legislation pass the House of Representatives,” said Chaffetz. “I’m committed to fixing legal immigration and this bill is one part of that important process. I encourage my colleagues in the Senate to swiftly pass this bipartisan legislation.”
The Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act, co-sponsored by a bipartisan group of 11 House members, including House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith (TX-21) and Immigration Subcommittee Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (CA-16), received broad support as it proceeded through the legislative process.
