On July 24th, the annual Invitational Cornhole Championship Tournament was held in Price, this year with 14 teams competing. The 2015 champion team of Wayne Clausing and Catherine Kane returned to try to regain their championship as well as the 2016 champions Monica Clausing and Landon Harbin. In the end, all the prior champions came up short to the 2017 champs; the team of Ed “The Ambassador” Howa and Miranda Blanton. Teams from throughout Utah participated as well as teams from Nevada and South Carolina.
The tournament began with the National Anthem and the team selection and seeding process. The event consisted of various rounds of the double-elimination tournament and many hard-fought battles, including several sudden-death overtime matches.
