The city of Green River came together to honor Chet Hunt, who has worked for the city for 30 years and is now retiring, on Saturday.
Hunt has lived in Green River for 63 years, 30 of which were spent tending to the city’s water, sewer, streets and graveyard.
His influences during his time working for the city include Gary Flecker, his boss for the first 10 years of his job, and Brian Meadows, who he has worked with the past 20 years.
Hunt was surrounded by family, friends and residents of the city as they showed their appreciation for his service. Mayor Travis Bacon presented Hunt with a gift and a plaque from the city.
Two other city employees, Meadows and Conae Black, were given accolades and presented with plaques for their 20 years of service with the city.
