The Carbon County Family Support and Children’s Justice Center offers a wide variety of services to help local families in need.

Besides working with the Department of Child and Family Services and law enforcement officers to provide a safe place for at-risk children, they also provide respite care as well as home visiting programs.

The center hosted an open house on Friday to show off their child-friendly facility and teach the public about their services.

The Crisis Nursery is designed to provide a safe, home-like environment where children ages 0-11 can go for up to 72 hours if a family is in crisis, has a medical emergency or appointment, or to escape family violence.

The Family Support Center is not just for children who have been abused or are in danger. They provide respite care for parents in need of support in stressful times.

All the services provided by the center are free, but donations are always accepted and appreciated. Children’s socks, pajamas, underwear and clothing as well as non-perishable food items or other hygiene products are among the most needed items.
